Film Friendly City

The City of Kaufman is a film friendly designated community through the State of Texas Film Commission.  This designation means Kaufman is ready to work with producers and film crews to provide sites and guidelines that meet the needs of this industry.  The media production industry provides substantial benefits to local economies by hiring area talent and supporting a wide variety of small businesses.  This impact puts our city on the world stage in movies, television shows, commercials, and other forms of media while promoting our unique assets, historic sites and community character. The State of Texas has significantly invested in the Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program, which provides sales tax rebates to qualified productions seeking sites in Texas. The North Texas region, especially smaller communities, have become a hub for filming projects and studios due to their character and atmosphere. For more information on filming in Texas and location services, you can learn more through the Texas Film Commission. KEDC Staff are happy to provide information about local sites, historic landmarks and filming guidelines within the City of Kaufman.

For residents or businesses that would like to showcase their property as a film friendly location in Kaufman, please contact Emily Golden.
